Johnson's Crossing

Where there's a will there IS a way. The entrances to Johnson's Crossing have been deteriorating for some years now and had become dangerous and unpleasant. After many requests to local authorities to 'do something' nothing was being done; and so the Parsonage Resident's Association decided to 'do something'. But where to go? Well, straight to the top. An approach was made to Ruth Kelly, Minister for Transport together with pictures and letters kindly published previously in the Observer showing the dreadful state of the area. Ministry of Transport department immediately contacted Local Council. Their response was, 'Not our responsibility'. So the Ministry instructed Rail Regulator to inspect the site. He did and now the job is done. Resident's Associations DO have some clout.
